This day’s tour will be one way because our return journey will be from a different route, allowing you to check out more memorable and must-visit places in this beautiful land. This journey will take up to four to five hours as well as we will have to cover a distance of 140 km to reach our destination.
Beginning the day with breakfast, we will check out from Leh shortly after and proceed to one of the most stunning and scenic, salt water Pangong Lake through the Changla Pass, which is at an elevation of 5486 meters. While ascending the Changla pass, make sure to not get exhausted and enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the villages spreading out below the pass. After crossing the pass, we shall pause our journey for a picnic lunch at Tsoltak, which, in other words, is the summer pastureland of the yaks. After our short break, we will move on to Durbuk and from there a short drive will take us to the western shore of the famous lake. Simply enjoy the landscape in the back drop of this heavenly lake.
Various Bollywood movies have been shot at this lake, and if you came here after watching some of them, you will definitely not be disappointed with the views the Pangong Lake has to offer. This famous blue brackish Lake of Pangong is five or six kilometers wide and over 144 km long with almost half of it running to the other side of the Indo-China Border. Even one-third of this lake is controlled by India while the rest two-third lies under the Chinese province.
One rarely feels so close to nature and heaven at the same time. And not to overlook the scenery which is absolutely breathtaking and unforgettable. Overnight stay will be at the Camp, from where we will proceed the next day.
